Are there time limits to sue for injuries in a Florida boating accident case?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

Yes, there are time limits. In a typical negligence situation with injuries, it’s four years. In a wrongful death situation, it’s two years. But you never want to wait that long, if you can avoid it. You should get competent council swiftly as possible, collect all the evidence you can. Try to settle it within a reasonable amount of time. If that does not happen, depending upon the type of case, wrongful death or not, file it within a reasonable amount of time. The longer you wait, it does tend to get stale, so you shouldn’t do that.
