Typically, you’ll have, in this state, it’s no-fault and you’ll have what’s called PIP coverage. You typically will have $10,000 of coverage available to you through your insurance. You may have MedPay coverage as well, typically adds up to 5,000, or you may have your own insurance available. But if you don’t, in many instances, when there’s an injury case in progress, your treating physician will issue what’s called a letter of protection. That means that they will hold back billing and wait until the case is concluded by way of settlement or a trial. Then, at that time, they’ll collect their medical fees.
